A judgement free zone is a great place to be when you're learning to love exercise... I have found my motivation is at it's peak and I feel comfortable in working towards my goals.
What's not to love when you can spend quality time with your kids, and at the same time get some "me" time in. We all have room for improvement, why not do it with those that want to be with you and want to feel your love? I love that my 11 year old is enjoying this time with me. Not only this, but I am setting a good example to him and my other kids that exercise is important - no matter where you are at in life, it is important. Movement is life! In fact, I was asked to introduce myself in an exercise accountability group. This was my reply: "Hi! I'm Jennie, I am 41. I am a stepmom to Alex 18yrs, Mom to Hunter 11, Kelton 8, and Serenity 6. Married to my forever. Owner and LMT of Heartpoint Healing (massage, energy work and other alternative health and wellness), and doTERRA Wellness Advocate & mentor. My goals with fitness - is to learn to love exercise, become strengthened, flexible, balanced and age with grace. Movement is life and I intend to keep up with my kids, future grandkids, and feel wonderful heart, mind, body and spirit!"
We've already touched on Celebrating Every Step. But it IS important. And I love this quote ""celebrate what you've accomplished, but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed." ~Mia Hamm" I did more than I thought I could! And I swear the trainer on the video is talking directly to me when she says that I can push myself a little further. She is right!
Now, while a before/after picture will do nothing for anyone right now (at least I don't think so) - the ticket for me right now is that I can FEEL a difference, ever so little it is, it is motivation for me to do more. I also feel amazing! I have more energy, I feel more awake and I have more motivation to keep on track.
So, now to explain the sleep issue. Normally kids who have night terrors grow out of them. However, on my dad's side those of us who have gotten night terrors have not grown out of them - they have kind of evolved. I know that for me, stress heightens them. There is good and bad stresses in our lives, only our body knows it only as stress. So my dreams have been rather active the last couple of weeks. I am going to be incorporating the essential oil blend, Serenity in the soft gel and other oils to my bedtime routine each evening to help calm the storm so to speak. I'm actually excited to teach all of you in my upcoming posts how to incorporate essential oils to enhance your workouts, so stay tuned! And if you have any questions, I am happy to help you!
Lastly, my appetite is ginormous and has evolved into not having any interest in foods that once sounded good to me. Salads particularity with vinagrette dressings, protein / superfood shakes/smoothies have been exciting to me! And if you haven't started on a protein / superfood shake or smoothies - I encourage you to do it! But they aren't all equal... I have tried a handful (cause I like to try new things and variety in all I do is a must!) Just know that if you try one, and you don't like it, they are not all the same. I have tried one that didn't agree with my body... so I couldn't have it. I have tried others that I have liked, but my favorite that I just keep going back to is the doTERRA Slim & Sassy Trim Shake and TerraGreens. I'll touch more on this in another post. I guess it is good that we already have the raw / whole foods part down with our diet. It is rare that I buy any processed foods these days. We are healthier because of it and we feel better because of it. I make sure we always have fresh veggies and fruits on hand and eat them daily! But having that superfood / protein shake just puts the cherry on top of everything else
