Any high impact or even a bounce is a big no for me. I have this crazy hip that likes to adjust in the wrong position on its own and while I go to the best Chiropractor in town (shout out to Dr. Adam Vance in Sandy), while he has helped me a ton over the past 19 years, high impact anything is just bad for me. So, I have to stick to low impact workouts and that may sound boring, perhaps it sounds like not much will be accomplished. But I assure you, a lot has been accomplished since I started at the beginning of this month.
So, I went through the freaking too many Country Heat dance moves that I'm not sure how anyone can remember, nor did I come even close to enjoying it. I thought I might, because back in the day (like 20 years ago I went country dancing and enjoyed it.) So, after I tried to learn the too many moves, I moved back to PiYo, which I have found that I absolutely love. It doesn't punish my body, is low impact, but yet I'm already getting results! I'm already feeling stronger and leaner.
I didn't do CORE this time, though I just would love to focus on only that at times, I realize that it is super important to balance out the rest of the body as you are working on your core. So, I went back to the first one I learned, Define: Lower Body. My legs are just as important as my core. Balance and variety of where you're working on, even if you're doing the same workout is super important.
PiYo reminds me of Yoga poses, only with movement. I feel so amazing afterward each time. I will try other workouts, but I think this may be my go-to or back-up workout when I feel like I didn't get anything from something else or that it just doesn't jive with me. #1 of 4 workouts is complete for this week! Hooray!
